If you are starting your career or in the process of re-evaluating yourself (like I am doing at the moment), one important question that you must answer and be clear is the following: At the end of the day, what do you want to get with your work? Ultimately, you have to select one of these three choices: money, fame, or freedom...one and only one. There is no good or bad answer. But it is important that the answer comes from you, not your father, not your grandmother, but from you. You should not feel embarrassed or shameful to pick any one of the choice, choosing money doesn't mean that you are a greedy person nor choosing fame means you just want to a celebrity. Different people have different motivations. The most important thing is be true to yourself. By asking myself this question, it helps me narrow down and select my career choice. I will tell you at the end what I want to focus on. But for now, let me explain why answering this question can help you narrow down yo...

My friend who is working at Zynga , the creator of the famous FarmVille, asked me last night: "given you have enough saving, stable income, and free from any commitments, what would you like to do". It is such a simple but deep question. What is my answer? "I dont' know". The Thai government scholarship contract is a big commitment I have been carrying on my shoulder for the past 10 years. I still cannot wrap my head around the concept of freedom. Then, I asked him what would you like to do. He said he is going to quit his job in the next 3 months and found an Ideas Realization Lab in Canada. Man..so easy for him to answer. I am jealous. Given that you have enough money and free from any commitments you currently have (raising kids, taking care of your parents, no more family business, etc), what would you want to do? I hope I can answer this question soon.

I am facing one of the most important decisions of my life now: to live in Thailand or in America. I graduated from Stanford in December 2007 and came back to Thailand in January 2008. I have been living there since. I got an opportunity to teach at Chulalongkorn Business School as a full-time lecturer in Entrepreneurship, Software Design, and Management. Time flies and it has been almost five years now. Either living in Thailand or in the US, both have pros and cons. I would like to detail them out here with the hope that it will help me think more clearly. Why living in Thailand? 1. My family is in Thailand.
