Hello Mr. 3!

รูปภาพ
I turned 30 today. Man..what a strange feeling. A decade has passed since I turned 20 back at Stanford. Yesterday, as I was waking up and laying on my bed, the only thought in my mind was 'this is the last day that I will be in my twenties. Tomorrow, I will join the thirties' club'. I once read about an old Chinese saying. It said 'at thirty, a man stands firm'. It is quite scary to think and compare my life with this saying since my ground at 30 isn't firm at all. Many questions popped up in my mind..questions like am I doing what I am supposed to be doing? Am I living my life right? such a hard question to answer :-\ I started to think of other alternatives that I could have been doing..options like working in a corporate world, taking on my family business, or super-focusing on academia and research fields. Will I be happy or more happy with those alternatives? May be I am biased but my gut feeling at the moment tell me the answer is probably 'no...

Bye bye Huihui

รูปภาพ
Huihui is the name of my cat and she is the cat of the whole family as well. Huihui is our first pet (ever). I used to have little chicks, ducklings, and fish as I grew up...but I guess it didn't really count as pets since what I did was just play with them and handed them out to my grand-auntie to take care. Frankly speaking, I am not a cat person at all. Before Huihui, I always feel that cats are sneaky and insincere animals. And sincerity is a big part of my life. But one day, some time between March/April in 2012, a gray and white cat walked into our house, into our lives. This cat has a gray patch on her mouth that looks like a mustache. The first time I met her was me getting out from a car and walking into my house. She was sitting in front of the door, looking at me. My automatic reaction kicked in when I saw a random cat: "Chew chew..#feet stomp and trample!"...for all the cats that I had done this action to, they would just run away, but this one is still s...

Happy Songkran 2013!

รูปภาพ
It has been a while since I celebrated and ran wild in Songkran festival. Come to think about it, it must be more than 18 years since I intensely shooting water gun and have real sore on my legs by running around. That was the time the whole family playing and the big 'villain' was my dad. What a fun memory to be reminiscent  about :) Anyways, this year..thanks to my friends Annie and Pear for inviting me out to join the Songkran festival at Central World and Silom, it was a great experience. Got to goof around with so many people (and animal)..like Central World/BTS guards, little girls on the street, both muscular and slim gays, and a couple of stray dogs along the roads. One of the things I found very useful to use during Songkran festival is my swimming goggles. When a person is in the (water) battle, the person has 2 weak spots...his eyes and his ears. Wearing these goggles reduce my weak spots by 50%!..pretty awesome, isn't it ;). And now I know who is right...

Noonswoon is one of the AIS 5 finalists!

Given that I haven't written anything for almost 3 months, this post might seem a bit out of place. Anyway, let say that since December last year, in addition to the responsibilities at the university, I have been working on a mobile application project, Noonswoon, with my two friends/partners, Peter and Theeranit (Amm) Pongthongmuang. It has been over 4 months with countless days, nights, and weekends spent together at LaunchPad . Despite a lot of hours putting into the project, at least for me, I have a tons of fun doing this...a tons of fun, but a tons of pressure too. Frankly speaking, this is my 8th startups project now. For my past seven projects, six failed and one has a micro successful exit. One thing I can tell you about startups experiences. Man..it sucks to fail.  Your parents start questioning you what you are doing..."remember your previous projects?", "you don't have the marketing skills", blabla and so on. :(..worst of all, you start ...

This is your Life

I saw this poster back in October, 2013 at a co-hacking space in San Francisco (Twin Peaks to be precise). Love it. Just got the chance to see it again on the internet. Enjoy. "If you are looking for the love of your life, stop; they will be waiting for you when you start doing things you love. Live your dream and share your passion"

Bye bye 2012

รูปภาพ
Today is the last day of 2012. I think I have something to say about 2012. Many people believe that the world will end this year. I am glad, it is still spinning ;). Anyhow, for me, my old world really ends and there are so many things I feel thankful for this year. A lot of unexpected things had happened to my life (career switch, partnership broke down, sour relationship, and career switch back). It really has been such a roller coaster ride. Some of these events literally knock me down on the floor.. Getting back on my feet isn't easy and won't be possible at all without friends and family. Really feel grateful to have them :)  On the bright side, 2012 gave me opportunity to reconnect with my old friends and make new friends (Fern, Kaew, Shiwei, Rocky, Mo, Jason, Lindsay, Tanin, Pac, Shaw Yean, Peter, and Maj). Life is awesome! Thank you "2012" for the invaluable life lessons. This year I am certain to say I am wiser now than who I am on Jan 1, 2012. Bu...

What career should I take? - choose one thing and stay focus

รูปภาพ
If you are starting your career or in the process of re-evaluating yourself (like I am doing at the moment), one important question that you must answer and be clear is the following: At the end of the day, what do you want to get with your work? Ultimately, you have to select one of these three choices: money, fame, or freedom...one and only one. There is no good or bad answer. But it is important that the answer comes from you, not your father, not your grandmother, but from you. You should not feel embarrassed or shameful to pick any one of the choice, choosing money doesn't mean that you are a greedy person nor choosing fame means you just want to a celebrity. Different people have different motivations. The most important thing is be true to yourself. By asking myself this question, it helps me narrow down and select my career choice. I will tell you at the end what I want to focus on. But for now, let me explain why answering this question can help you narrow down yo...
